Mitt hjärta är rikt som en fylld pokal 
af guld och af röd rubin,

med gnistrande, eldigt vin! 

Och vinet skummar i glans och glöd, 
det skimrar i purpurbrand, 
det svallar i strömmande öfverflöd 
utöfver bägarens rand. 

För dig ha de yppiga drufvorna blödt, 
för dig är bägaren full, 
för din skull är vinet så starkt och sött 
i kärl af glimmande gull. 

Så höj pokalen i snöhvit hand 
och töm den med törstig lust! 
Drick, drick min sjudande ungdoms brand, 
mitt hjärtas skummande must!
