 tra il mormorio de' baci ebro di gioia,

 Forz'è di rio destino
 ch'io parta, ch'io ti lasci e vada altrove,
 senza porteri dir quando né dove.

 Partirò, ma vedrai quanto,
 bell'Elvira, dal mio pianto
 sia il dolor del mio partir.
 
 Senza te, gioia amorosa,
 la mio vita è più penosa
 d'ogni barbaro [martir]1.
