by Johannes Trojan (1837 - 1915)

Setz dich freundlich zu mir nieder
Language: German (Deutsch)
Setz dich freundlich zu mir nieder --
Zu unsern Füßen rauscht die Flut,
Die Vögel singen auf den Zweigen,
Die Haideblumen fromm sich neigen --
Setz dich freundlich zu mir nieder,
O, sei mir gut!

Gib mir deine lieben Hände
Und mach mich froh und wohlgemuth --
Es grüßen fern die Abendglocken,
Das Goldlicht spielt um deine Locken --
Gib mir deine lieben Hände,
O, sei mir gut!

[Wende zu mir]1 deine Augen,
Darin des Himmels Friede ruht --
Die Sterne blinken mild und helle,
Das Mondlicht flimmert auf der Welle --
[Wende zu mir]1 deine Augen,
O, sei mir gut!

Sprich zu mir ein liebes Wörtchen,
[Wüßtest]2 du, wie wohl es thut! --
Die Vögel schweigen still und lauschen,
Die Wellen hören auf zu rauschen --
Sprich zu mir ein liebes Wörtchen,
O, sei mir gut!
