Gud, du som lyset og dagen oplod
Language: Danish (Dansk)
Gud, du som lyset og dagen oplod,
selv er du lysenes kilde,
nat sig ej nærmer din kongestols fod,
sol er der årle og silde.

Nu drage skyggerne skumle på flugt,
dagen oprinder, den klare,
stjernerne blege det blus nu har slukt,
tyst gennem mørket de bare.

Karske fra lejet vi glade opstod,
tak dig med sange at sige,
natten den blinde bortdrive du lod,
solen med daglys opstige.

Lad os ej smitte os kødets sans,
verdens lyster og lader,
tænd i vort hjerte din helligheds glans,
hellige, kærlige fader!

Styrk du og støt os, da faste vi stå,
stride og sejre i striden!
Frelser og fører, du æren skal få
nu og evindelig siden!
