Mein Tempel

O wieder will ich aus dem Menschenstrom
den Fuß zu euch, ihr lieben Berge wenden,
wo über mir sich wölbt der Himmelsdom,
will mein Gebet ich zum Allvater senden.
Dort wo am Felsenherz der Gletscher träumt,
der Aar empor sich kühn zur Sonne sich schwinget,
die Alpenrosen blühn, der Wildbach schäumt
und Freiheitsstolz zur Thalestiefe dringet.
Dort will ich knie'n vor dem Altar
aus Urgranit vom Ewigen errichtet;
in jenem Tempel fand ich immerdar
noch Trost, so oft ich mich zu ihm geflüchtet.
