Roses of Forgiveness
Language: English
If you came back from out the mist of years, With roses of forgiveness in your hands, Should I not clasp them still as tenderly, As when we trod the sun-kissed mem'ry lands? If you came back with sorrow in your eyes, And in your heart great bitterness and pain, Should I not give each hour of life, my soul, To win you back to joy and hope again? If you came back from out the mist of years, I would not blame you, though my tears might flow, But read with you the Book of Love again, From the dear page we left so long ago!
