by August Heinrich Hoffmann von Fallersleben (1798 - 1874)

Mein Gärtchen
Language: German (Deutsch)
Ei, was kann wohl schöner sein
In des Himmels Sonnenschein
Als dort an jenem Teich
Mein Gärtelein?

Wo jedes Blümchen nickt,
Wo jedes Blümchen blickt,
Als wollt es sagen mir:
Vergiß mein nicht!

O du liebes Gärtelein,
Ich vergeße nimmer dein,
Es treibt mich immer fort
Hinaus zu dir.

Du säuselst Fried' und Ruh,
Und Freud' und Luft mir zu,
Und durch dich wird die Welt
Recht heimlich mir.

Und wie könnt' ich traurig sein,
Wenn ich jemals denke dein!
Du meinst es gar zu gut,
Zu gut mit mir.

Und liegst du auch beschneit
In [dieser kalten]1 Winterzeit --
Du grünst und blühst ja [stets]2
Im Herzen mir.
