by Karl Emil Konstantin, Freiherr von Göchhausen (1778 - 1855)

Jägerlied
Language: German (Deutsch)
Wenn Eos am Morgen
mit rosigem Finger
das Dunkel erhellt,
ergreifet der Jäger
die tötenden Waffen,
und zieht in den Wald.

Es glänzen die Bäume,
die Büsche, die Blüten,
in perlendem Tau.
Es necken die Nebel,
es locken die Schimmer
hinein in den Wald.

Da grüsset Diana
den emsigen Jäger
mit freundlichem Blick.
Sie sendet ihm Beute,
die trifft er in Eile
mit fertiger Kunst.

Und ruht er ermüdet
am blumigen Rande
des silbernen Bachs:
so tönen ihm Lieder
der frohen Dryaden,
des göttlichen Pans.

Mit Beute beladen
rückkehret er fröhlich
wenn Phoibos sinkt.
So führen die Horen
die Tage des Jägers
in Freuden dahin.
