Ad una stella
Language: Italian (Italiano)
Stella gentil, che a sera
Corri le vie del cielo,
Segreta messaggera
Vuoi farti al nostro amor?

Saresti eternamente
L'amica piú fedel,
La nostra confidente
Nel riso e nel dolor.

Tu sai, soave stella,
Com'io, pensoso e triste,
Sospiri ognor, ed ella
M'aspetti e pianga ognor.

Deh! Se la vedi, a lei
Dí mille dolci cose
E mille ancor. Oh, sei
L'astro del nostro amor!

Note provided by Alberto Pedrotti for stanza 2, line 2, word 3 ("fedel") [sic]: for metrical reasons the word should be "fedele", but Catalani used the word "fedel" instead.
