The whitethroat
Language: English
"Oh! I've a little nest of mine, A nest of mine, a nest of mine?' Thats how the whitethroat sang to me" Upon the bough above. . And over us the sun did shine, And I was yours and you were mine, And all the world was ours, sweetheart, And all the world was love. For you had made a nest for me, A nest for me, a nest for me, That all your heart encompasses And all your love makes dear. But, oh!the nest is sad and gray, You went away, you went away, And all is sad since yesterday, And every song a tear. But still the whitethroat sings his song, Though days are dark, though days are long, He sings to me, he talks to me Upon his bough-above. He sings of you, he sings of you In sun and rain, in sun and rain; He sings you'll soon be back again, And all the song is love.
