by Vilhelm Ekelund (1880 - 1949)

Öfver hafvet sjunker en stjärna
Language: Swedish (Svenska)
Öfver hafvet sjunker en stjärna
stilla, sörjande
ser jag dess stråle släckas,
ser jag den långsamt kväfvas.
Den enda stjärnan i natten...

Dock skall jag alltid känna
din blick följa mig,
lysa vänligt i min natt,
dock skall du alltid skina öfver min väg
stilla, sörjande,
stjärna, du som slocknade för mig!

Dock skall din blick mig följa,
din blick den stilla, rena,
dock skall jag alltid känna
din ande kring mig sväfva,

kring mig som den lena
varma brisen bölja.
