Le chat sur le toit
Language: French (Français)
Il disparaît...
Où peut-il être ?
C'est son secret.
Par la fenêtre,
Qui donc s'enfuit ?
Son cri bruit,
Bruit encore
Appel sonore
Tendre et stridant
Qui se prolonge.
Et cependant,
Comme en un songe,
On aperçoit
Au plus haut faîte du mince toit
Sa silhouette
Se découpant
Dans la nuit claire.
Il va rampant
Se dresse et flaire.
Dans le ciel bleu semé de feux
La douloureuse plainte s'entend
Car l'amoureuse au loin chantant
En langue humaine lui répond :
Oui ! oui ! oui !
Or, l'aube a lui claire et sereine
Et la clameur nocturne meurt dedans l'espace
Craintif du jour,
L'amour s'efface
Adieu l'amour !
