The dreaming lake
Language: English
The tropic wind dies down, The grass nods sleepily, A tired little sigh Is heard in the bamboo tree. The lily leans her head Upon the dreaming lake, The waters whisper low, All quiet for her sake. The palm-trees bend their heads Along the sandy shore, And quiet night comes down To hush the sea once more.
