Rain
Language: English
Rain! It's rain! Listen to the patter of the rain!
See! it splashes all about!
Hurry, let us shut it out,
And listen as it beats upon the window pane.

Sometimes it's fast, and sometimes slow,
But when the wind begins to blow,
It dashes it against the glass,
And spoils the raindrops' dance, alas!

Now! again! Listen to the patter of the rain!
[Altho']1 we shut the raindrops out,
[Quite merrily]2 they dance about,
Tapping, tapping, tapping on my window pane.

But from its home within the sky
The rain has brought a lullaby
That angels sing, as guard they keep:
I find I'm falling fast asleep.
