by José Júlio da Silva Ramos (1853 - 1930)

A partida
Language: Portuguese (Português)
Tenho-a presente, como agora, aquela
dura noite da triste despedida;
a aragem levemente arrefecida
do barco enfuna a desfraldada vela.

Distante, como em fundo de aquarela,
some-se a mansa vila adormecida,
e a branda luz dos astros refletida
no rio as águas límpidas estrela.

Cena viva que a mente me descreve,
dos amigos em grupos pelo cais
vozes perpassam num sussurro leve;

trocam-se as doces expressões finais...
E, enquanto os lábios dizem - até breve!
Os corações murmuram - nunca mais!
