by Matthías Jochumsson (1835 - 1920)

Ingólfs minni
Language: Icelandic (Íslenska)
Lýsti sól stjörnustól,
stirndi' á Ránarklæði.
Skemmti sér vor um ver,
vindur lék í næði.
Heilög sjón, hló við Frón.
Himinn, jörð og flæði,
fluttu landsins föður heillakvæði.

Himinfjöll, földuð mjöll,
fránu gulli brunnu.
Fram til sjár silungsár,
sungu meðan runnu.
Blóm á grund, glöð í lund,
gull og silki spunnu
meðan fuglar kváðu allt er kunnu.

Blíð og fríð frelsistíð,
frægur steig á grundu.
Ingólfur Arnarbur,
íturhreinn í lundu.
Dísafjöld hylltu höld,
heill við kyn hans bundu.
Blessist Ingólfs byggð frá þeirri stundu.
