by Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson (1832 - 1910)

Der gaar et stille Tog
Language: Norwegian (Bokmål)
Der gaar et stille Tog
igennem Kampens Bulder
med Bøn paa alle Sprog;
det bøjer mod den faldne ned
med Korset paa sin Skulder,
med Bud fra Hjem og Fred.

Det findes dér ej kun,
hvor Kampens Vunde bløder,
men paa Alverdens Rund,
det er Alverdens Kærlighed
af ædle, gode Hjærter,
som stille knæler ned.

Det er Arbejdets Sky
for Krigens Mord og Hærjing,
der ber om Fred og Ly;
det er hver lidende paa Jord,
som kender Nød og Kummer,
der sukker for sin Bror.

Det er hvert Smærtestøn
af saarede og syge,
det er den kristnes Bøn;
det er forladtes blege Raab,
det er den krænktes Klage,
den dræbtes sidste Haab; -

en Bønnens Regnbu-Bro
op gennem Verdens Uvejr
i Skin af Kristi Tro:
at over Lidenskabens Nød
maa Kærlighed faa sejre,
thi saa hans Løfte lød.
