Tyst som Aa i Engen rinder
Language: Danish (Dansk)
Tyst som Aa i Engen rinder,
spejler Himmel, Sky og Jord,
bærer Sproget vore Minder,
hvad der var, og hvad der gror.
Tyst som Aa i Engen rinder,
rent og stille er vort Ord.

Uden Brovten, blomsterbroget
som en Eng i Sommerfl or,
glimter, lyser, dufter Sproget
af vor egen milde Jord.
Tyst som Aaen, blomsterbroget,
klart og frodigt er vort Ord.

Skabt af Luft, med Vindens Vinge,
blødt dets Kys og let dets Spor,
smedet til en smidig Klinge,
Viddet hvæssede vort Ord.
Tungt som Hug af Mandens Klinge,
let som Pigens Dans vort Ord.

Varmet ved vort Hjertes Varme
gror dets Rigdom, naar vi gror.
Modersmaal har aabne Arme,
favner, løfter som en Mor.
Varmet ved vort Hjertes Varme
vokse skal det danske Ord!
