Pflanzet Blumen, zarte Blumen
Language: German (Deutsch)
Pflanzet Blumen, zarte Blumen
In den Schooß der Erde ein,
Denn auf jeder Lebensmarke
Müßen sie die Deutung sein.

Giebt der Taufe fromme Weihe
Priesterhand dem zarten Kind,
Liegt schon um die junge Stirne
Deutungsvoll ein frisch Gebind.

Spricht der Jüngling dann der Jungfrau
Schüchtern seine Liebe aus,
Giebt er ihr von Rosenblüten
Einen reichgewundenen Strauß.

An dem frohen Hochzeittage
Streut junger Mädchen Schaar
Blumen von dem Hochzeithause
Auf den Weg bis zum Altar.

Und es fehlet nicht die Blumen
An des Lebens letztem Tag,
Blumen fallen selbst zum Abschied
Noch dem Sarg im Grabe nach.
