by George Coșbuc (1866 - 1918)

Gazel II
Language: Romanian (Română)
Picurii cu strop de strop
Fac al mărilor potop—

Zilnic câte-un spic adună
Şi-n curând tu ai un snop.

Mergi încet şi las’ s-alerge
Alţii cât or vrea-n galop.

Fii stejar, să creşti în lături,
Nu înalt şi slab, un plop.

Nu uita trăind de corbul
Şi de vulpea lui Esop.

Dacă eşti cinstit, n-ai teamă
De duşman, de-ar fi ciclop.

Fă cât poţi, şi las’ să râdă
Cei ce sar viaţa-n hop.

Iar de n-are scop viaţa,
Fă să aibă clipa scop.
