I drömmar träden stå.
Öfver de bleka stränder 
det mörknar fort och skumt till afton ner.
Hur lyser skymning blå!
O Vår, jag ser en Psyke skär
med skygga lyfta händer,
dig öfver staden stå.

Än mildt fördröjer
sig kring ditt hufvud dagens sken, det sista,
men i ditt bröst, som stumma böner höjer,
all nattens bittra längtans bäckar brista.

Och fleroch flergå stjärnor fram. O Vår,
o Psyke späd med skygga lyfta händer,
hur blek sig stjärnan vid din hjässa tänder,
hur darrar dunklet vid ditt veka hår.
