Deutscher Psalm

Vergesse dein ich je, du deutsches Land,
so soll man meiner fürder nicht gedenken,
verfemt auf ewig sei ich und verbannt,
wenn deutsch nicht wär' mein Sinnen und mein Denken.

In Trümmer stürze meiner Werke Turm,
und meines Daseins Spur verweh' im Sand,
und friedlos treibe mich des Schicksals Sturm,
vergesse dein ich je, du deutsches Land!

Denn deutscher Mut und deutsche Kraft und Stärke,
sie ringen nieder fremder Völker Spott
und wirken gold'nen Einschlag in die Werke
des, der sie schuf, des Weltenwebers Gott.
