by August Heinrich Hoffmann von Fallersleben (1798 - 1874)

Der Kickeriki‑Hahn
Language: German (Deutsch)
Wenn wir des Morgens früh aufstehn
Und dann nach unsern Hühnern sehn,
Dann lock' ich meinen Hahn zu mir:
Ei lieber Hahn, wie geht es dir?
Ei sag', warum
Bist du so stumm?

Die Augen macht er zu alsdann,
Weil er auswendig Alles kann;
Er schlägt mit seinen Flügeln schnell
Und krähet wohlbedacht und hell,
Und irrt sich nie:
Kickeriki!
