Lob Thüringens
Language: German (Deutsch)
O Thüringen, du schönes Land
[ . . .

. . . ]

Wie bist du doch an Sagen reich
Von blut'gem Strauß und stolzem Sieg,
Von deinem Wartburg-Sängerkrieg,
In Ernst und Schimpf von manchem Streich;
Wo früh die Sangeslust erblüht,
Da tönt auch jetzt noch manches Lied.

Von deiner Wartburg stolzem Schloß,
Wo Luther horst' als Junker Hans,
Entbrannte einst des Lichtes Glanz,
Der durch ganz Deutschland sich ergoß,
Vor welchem schwand des Glaubens Wahn
Und bald die Geister freier sahn.
