by Julius Wolff (1834 - 1910)

Beschwörungslied des Rattenfängers
Language: German (Deutsch)
Nun Mäuse und Ratten,
Ob alt oder jung,
Hervor aus dem Schatten,
Jetzt gilt es den Sprung;
Es blinket und winket
Die spiegelnde Fluth,
Ertrinket, versinket,
Verteufelte Brut!

Da lauert die Tücke
In goldner Gestalt,
Euch zieht auf die Brücke
Des Zaubers Gewalt.
Es heißet und gleißet
Das Mondlicht so roth
Und reißet und schmeißet
Euch All' in den Tod.

Hinunter, Geziefer,
Verrathen, verflucht,
Nun tiefer und tiefer
Zu schwimmen versucht,
Nun krauchet und tauchet
In Strudel und Graus
Und hauchet und fauchet
Die Seele euch aus!
