Song for ma
Language: English
I hear a faint melody
Gentle and sweet
It's taking me back to the house of my mother
And there in the garden, up in a tree
I look at our home from the top of the world
No one can touch me, for this is my kingdom
I'm wrapped in her love, protected but free
In the hush of the night
That's when I recall her face
And her fond and firm embrace
In the bright light of day
I can sometimes hear her play
But the music slips away
Picking rosebuds in the garden
I remember the things we did
She gave me her love for music
When I was only a kid
She stayed young all her life
And though years have drifted by
Since we said our last goodbye
Her spirit will stay with me till I die
All the time
In the hush of the night
That's when I recall her face
And her fond and firm embrace
In the bright light of day
I can sometimes hear her play
But the music slips away
Picking rosebuds in the garden
I remember the things we did
She gave me her love for music
When I was only a kid
She stayed young all her life
And though years have drifted by
Since we said our last goodbye
Her spirit will stay with me till I die
All the time
Her spirit will stay with me all the time
