by Vicente Augusto de Carvalho (1866 - 1924)

Desiludida
Language: Portuguese (Português)
Sou como a corça ferida
Que vai, sedenta e arquejante,
Gastando uns restos de vida
Em busca da água distante.

Bem sei que já me não ama,
E sigo, amorosa e aflita,
Essa voz que não me chama,
Esse olhar que não me fita.

Bem reconheço a loucura
Deste amor abandonado
Que se abre em flor, e procura
Viver de um sonho acabado;

E é como a corça ferida
Que vai, sedenta e arquejante,
Gastando uns restos de vida
Em busca da água distante.

Só, perdido no deserto,
Segue empós do seu carinho:
Vai se arrastando... e vai certo
Que morre pelo caminho.
