Canção sertaneja
Language: Portuguese (Português)
O bom Deus criou o mundo
e a grandeza do sertão,
A morena é o sol da vida,
deste mundo, o coração.

Todos procuram a sombra
de umbuzeiro e ouricuri.
Eu, também, quero o consolo
de um rosto que eu descobri.

O sofrê canta no mato,
chamando o amor que não vê.
A minha alma sonha e canta:
a saudade é um sofrê!

Esse rio corre, corre,
toda a vida para o mar...
Meu pensamento só vive
correndo, para te amar!

É um coração minha viola
ou rola triste a gemer.
Minha amada, estando longe,
de tristeza faz morrer!...
