Mein Sehnen
Language: German (Deutsch)
Nimm mich auf, du blaue Ferne,
die dem Wunsch so viel verspricht;
and're suchen heim'sche Sterne,
doch die Heimat winkt mir nicht.

Durch die Lüfte hin und wieder
send' ich tausend Boten aus:
Wünsche, Träume, Seufzer, Lieder,
keines forscht die Heimat aus.

Lächelt jedem eine Freude,
jubeln alle fern und nah',
steh' nur ich mit meinem Leide
einsam und verlassen da!

Denn ach, alles eint sich lieber
mit des Frohen heiter'm Blick;
auch die Liebe geht vorüber
und das leichtgeschürzte Glück.

Keine Liebe, keine Freude,
selbst die Heimat kenn' ich nicht;
nimm mich auf, du blaue Weite,
die aus Wolken Kränze flicht!
