Ich will ein Häuschen bauen von Tannenstämmen mir,
Am hohen Bergesrücken, umringt vom Waldrevier;
Will drinn die schönste Stube bewahren nur für Dich,
Sag' kommst Du in mein Häuschen zu sehn, ob glücklich ich1.
 
Und bei der Felsengrotte gekehrt zum Mondenschein,
Stürzt eine lust'ge Quelle, aus weissem Kieselstein,
Und eilt zum nächsten Bache hinab mit flücht'ger Well'.
Sag' kommst du dich zu laben an meinem Felsenquell?
 
Und wenn der Abend dämmert, die Quelle rauscht im Fall,
Und wenn die Sterne blinken, wenn klagt die Nachtigall,
Und einsam Dein ich harre, an off'ner Gartenthür,
Ach, kommst du dann zu sagen, ich geh' nicht mehr von Dir1.
