Joropiana
Language: Spanish (Español)
Echa mis riendas al fuego,
que arde en tu pecho.
La tierra que pide riego,
agua le echo...
Baja de flores cargada,
cantando ardiente:
el agua va enamorada,
por la vertiente.

Oye, morena, si siembro mi amor,
lo que dice el río: dice, morena,
que el mundo es de Dios;
y tu amor es mío.

Allá en la alta montaña,
vive la noche.
Bajando por telarañas,
va en frío coche.
Baja llorando y callada
al cementerio.
La noche va enamorada
de su misterio.

Oye, morena, si siembro mi amor,
lo que dice el río: dice, morena,
que el mundo es de Dios;
y tu amor es mío.

Si echas mis riendas al fuego,
ya no habrá contén...
Se soltará mi caballo,
camino al Edén...
Echa las riendas, morena.
¡Las tuyas, también!
