by Otto Franz Gensichen (1847 - 1933)

Wirf in die Fluthen hinein
Language: German (Deutsch)
Wirf in die Fluthen hinein
Maßlieb, Veilchen und Nelken,
Eh' sie im Sonnenschein
Ungebrochen verwelken.

Seliger Schicksal, vorher
Hold am Herzen zu liegen,
Dann bis in's ewige Meer
Sich auf Wellen zu wiegen,

In die unendliche Fluth
Liebesüß zu verfließen,
Als vor sonniger Gluth
Ungepflückt sich zu schließen.

Wär' ein Blümelein ich,
Könnte die Brust ihm schmücken,
Willig dürfte er mich
Dann in die Wellen zerpflücken.

Glücklich, würde mich er
Einmal innig umschließen,
Fröhlich dann wollt' ich in's Meer
Tiefster Vergessenheit fließen!
