by Otto Franz Gensichen (1847 - 1933)

Laublos steht der ernste Wald
Language: German (Deutsch)
Laublos steht der ernste Wald,
Vögleins Lied ist längst verhallt,
Winter deckt zu süßer Ruh
Mit dem Schneetuch Alles zu.

Frieden athmet die Natur,
Hell erglänzet der Azur,
Von den Sternen mild und rein
Tönt das Lied der Engelein.

Klinge fort, du Bethlemssang:
"Ehre sei dem Herrn und Dank,
Frieden herrsche weit und breit!"
O du sel'ge Weihnachtszeit!
