by Ludwig Peter August Burmeister (1804 - 1870), as L. Lyser

Ruhe
Language: German (Deutsch)
Die Sonne will sich neigen,
des Waldes Stimmen schweigen,
nur in den Wipfeln lind
kost noch der Abendwind.
Und es verhallet leise
des lauten Tages Weise,
und alles geht zur Ruh';
o Herz, wann ruhst auch du?

Am klaren Himmelsbogen
kommt still die Nacht gezogen,
und hoch in duft'ger Fern'
strahlt noch der Liebesstern.
Und Nachtigallen singen,
da schwebt auf leichten Schwingen
der Geist hier, ohne Ruh',
der Liebe Heimat zu.
