by Julius Karl Reinhold Sturm (1816 - 1896)

Ein Stern ging auf aus Jakobs Stamm
Language: German (Deutsch)
Ein Stern ging auf aus Jakobs Stamm
Und es begann zu tagen,
Und aus dem Sterne ward das Lamm,
Das unsre Schuld getragen.

Das Lamm starb unter Spott und Hohn,
Verfiel des Grabes Banden;
Da wich der Stein, die Hüter flohn,
Ein Löwe war erstanden.

Und aus dem Löwen ward ein Held
Voll göttlicher Gewalten.
Ein Herr und König, der das Feld
Auf ewig wird behalten.
