Quand de mon tertre en fleur, sous les feux du matin,
Je vois scintiller ta fenêtre,
Comme un astre tombé d'un firmament lointain,
Le jour se lève dans mon être !
Et mon cœur plein d'amour reçoit tous les rayons
Que reflètent tes vitres closes,
Tandis qu'autour de moi monteint, des lourds silence,
La douce et grande voix des choses !
Masi déjà, dans la nuit, tu voyais luire en toi
L'heure claire qui me ramène,
L'heure où noter baiser abrite, comme un toit,
La seule belle joie humaine !
Alors vers toi je cours, fou, le cœur anxieux,
Brûlant du feu qui le dévore,
Afin de posséder tout le ciel dans tes yeux
Et sur ma poitrine, l'aurore !
