by Ernst I Anton Karl Ludwig Herzog von Sachsen-Coburg und Gotha (1784 - 1844)

Gruss an den Bruder
Language: German (Deutsch)
Hat so lang mein Leid geschwiegen,
soll es heute auf erstehn
und aus süssen Schlaf dich wiegen,
durch der Klänge zartes Weh'n

Ist auch noch so weit die Reise
trägt's ein Zephir hin zu Dir!
Und es flüstert dann ganz leise,
Denkst des Bruders Du auch hier

von der Heimath von dem Norden
von der Jugend stillem Glück,
spricht es schwebend in Accorden:
leitet hieher deinen Blick.
