Herr Peder kasted runer over spange
Language: Danish (Dansk)
Herr Peder kasted runer over spange,
som Helleliden over skulle gange.
Så løfted han sit anker,
så fik han bliden bør
og sejlede fra Danmark
og fra de danske mø'r.
Favre ord fryde mangt et hjerte,
favre ord har forvoldt mig smerte, -
favre ord!

Helleliden går og længes under strande
og stirrer på de dybe, salte vande.
Lad os kun lykken friste!
"Gud giver bliden bør!"
Så sejled hun fra Danmark
med alle sine mø'r.
Favre ord har mig hårdt bedåret,
favre ord har mit hjerte såret, -
favre ord!

Den vægter råber højt, da skibet kommer:
Nu bringer børen os den danske sommer!
Det var den herre Peder,
af glæde fast han lo,
da Helleliden gav ham
sin ære og sin tro.
Favre ord stundom hjertet glæde,
favre ord volde tit, vi græde, -
favre ord!
