by Christiane Rosalia Friederik (1839 - 1901), as Ada Christen

Gewitternahen
Language: German (Deutsch)
Bleischwer drückt die Nacht auf mich,
Wolken jagen rasch vorüber,
Trübe schon und immer trüber
Hüllt der Mond in Nebel sich.

In den Zweigen ächzt der Wind
Und es rauschen scheu die Blätter,
Bald vom dumpfen nahen Wetter
Ausgelöscht die Sterne sind.

Unkenruf im nahen See
Und im Gras ein leis' Geflüster;
Öde starrt der Himmel, düster --
Weint er stumm -- ob unserm Weh?
