Nóptea sombră rourósă, Fără nicĭ uă mândră stea, Mĕ opresce ne-milósă Mĕ opresce a te vedea. Roua-s lacrămile mele, Ce mereŭ s'aŭ strecuratŭ Cu-astă nópte fără stele Si din peptu mĭ a sburat. Stele, lună, să răsară Cu lumina lor saŭ nu, Nóptea n'are să dispară Dacă na apari şi tu. Oh! răsari dar mîndră d̦iuă, Ĭn fereastra-ţi mititea Si cu dulcea ta lumină Fă să fugă nóptea-mi grea.
