Die Tränen, die geflossen
Language: German (Deutsch)
Die Tränen, die geflossen
hier unten auf der Welt,
sie trägt in der Nacht ein Engel
hinauf zum Himmelszelt.

Doch ist so weit der Himmel,
die Tränen sind so schwer;
manch Tröpflein fällt dem Engel
hinab ins tiefe Meer.

Doch wo zur Erde nieder
ein Tropfen sich verlor,
da grünt es, und es blühen
schneeweiße Lilien empor.

Das hat eine Lilie mir selber
erzählt zur nächtlichen Stund',
als ich um den Geliebten
mir weinte die Augen wund.
