by Bernhardt Severin Ingemann (1789 - 1862)

Til himlene rækker din miskundhed, Gud!
Language: Danish (Dansk)
Til himlene rækker din miskundhed, Gud!
din trofasthed når dine skyer.
Din retfærdshånd over bjergene ud
er strakt over dale og byer.

Som himlenes favn er din kærlighed, Gud!
som havenes dyb dine domme.
Til frelsen fører du sjælene ud,
vil skabningens suk ihukomme.

Hvor dyrebar er dog din miskundhed, Gud!
hvor menneskebørnene bygge!
I mulm er kærligheds-vingen bredt ud,
vi skjule os under dens skygge.

Du kvæger i ørken den tørstende sjæl,
du bjærger den bævende due.
Hos dig er livets det evige væld,
og lys i dit lys skal vi skue.
