Mein Glück, wo bist du hin?
Language: German (Deutsch)
Ich war ein junges, frisches Blut,
die ganze Welt war mein,
mein Freund war mir von Herzen gut,
mein Mädchen engelrein.
Ich lebt' in heiterm Jugendsinn
die schönen Tage hin.

Da musst' ich in die Welt hinaus,
ließ Freund und Lieb' zurück,
und als ich kehrt' zum Vaterhaus,
sucht' ich mein stilles Glück.
Mich zog's mit sehnsuchtsvollem Sinn
zu meinen Lieben hin.

Mein Freund ist längst im kalten Grab,
er, dessen Herz so warm;
die Maid, die ich geliebet hab',
ruht in des Andern Arm.
Nun frag' ich oft in meinem Sinn:
„Mein Glück, wo bist du hin?”
