by Lambrecht Lambrechts (1865 - 1932)

De duinen
Language: Dutch (Nederlands)
De duinen zijn als logge reuzen,
geleund, gelegerd langs de zee.
De vloed mag beuken, breken, brullen,
kalm lachen daar de duinen mee.
Keerzang
  Hun wallen blijken ijzersterk.
  Nou, reuzenvolk past reuzenwerk.
  Hun wallen blijken ijzersterk.
  Nou, reuzenvolk past reuzenwerk.

Het water mag hun rug bespringen,
hun kop bespatten met hun schuim.
Het dreigt er twintig weg te spoelen.
Asa ! Zij wijken niet een duim !

Zij weten wel indien zij vielen
wat lot ons land beschoren was.
Waar nu het gouden koren wiegelt
glom dra een wilde pekelplas.
