Nat, søvn og slum og seng, far vel
Language: Danish (Dansk)
Nat, søvn og slum og seng, far vel,
det dages fluks i øster,
til bøn, til bøn, min kære sjæl,
suk til den Gud, dig trøster:

O, lysets fader, livets sol,
med søn og ånd tillige,
se fra din høje himmelstol
ned til vort jorderige.

Lad lyset i din kirke bo,
lad ordets lys og støtte
ledsage os i Kristi tro,
til vi til himmel flytte.

Lys og, o Jesus! for min fod,
at jeg skal ikke falde,
men at jeg varer kød og blod
for syndens sukkergalde.

Lad dine engle mig ved hånd
igennem verden lede
og udi sygdoms hårde bånd
mig lægedom berede.

Gid jeg således leve må
i hver en tid og lykke,
jeg kan mod livets aften få
det evig' lyses smykke.
