La forêt n'est plus qui doucement
Descendait bruissante de la montagne,
Lorsque je quittais en courant ma bien-aimée,
Le cœur empli de nouvelles chansons.

La profonde vallée n'est plus,
Où paissaient les chevreuils,
Que des milliers de fois, [la nuit]1,
Nous voyions au dehors.

L'arbre, la vallée et la forêt sont encore là,
Le monde est demeuré jeune,
