Как мой садик свеж и зелен!
Распустилась в нём сирень;
От черёмухи душистой
И от лип кудрявых тень...

Правда, нет в нём бледных лилий,
Горделивых георгин,
И лишь пёстрые головки
Возвышает мак один,

Да подсолнечник у входа,
Словно верный часовой,
Сторожит себе дорожку,
Всю поросшую травой... 

Но люблю я садик скромный:
Он душе моей милей 
Городских садов унылых,
С [тенью]1 правильных аллей.

И весь день, в траве высокой
Лёжа, слушать бы я рад,
Как заботливые пчёлы
Вкруг черёмухи жужжат.

Mon jardin

Comme mon jardin est frais et vert !
Le parfum du lilas se répand ;
Du merisier vient un parfum,
Et du tilleul une ombre frisée...

Cependant il n'y a pas de lys blancs,
Ni de dahlias hautains,
Et seulement une tête bigarrée
Et surélevée de pavot.

Mais le tournesol à l'entrée,
Comme une sentinelle fidèle,
Monte la garde sur le chemin,
Tout recouvert d'herbe...

Mais j'aime cet humble jardin :
Il est plus cher à mon âme
Que les ternes jardins de la ville,
Avec leurs chemins bien réguliers.

Et toute la journée dans l'herbe haute,
Allongé, je suis heureux et j'écoute
Comme les abeilles diligentes
Bourdonnent autour du merisier.
