Das Glas gefüllt!

Language: German (Deutsch)

  Das Glas gefüllt!
  Der Nordwind brüllt,
Die Sonn' ist niedergesunken!
  Der kalte Bär
  Blinkt Frost daher!
Getrunken, Brüder, getrunken!

  Die Tannen glühn
  Hell im Kamien,
[Und knatternd fliegen]1 die Funken!
  Der edle Rhein
  Gab uns den Wein!
Getrunken, Brüder, getrunken!

  Der edle Most
  Verscheucht den Frost,
Und zaubert Frühling hernieder;
  Der Trinker sieht
  Den Hain entblüht,
Und Büsche wirbeln ihm Lieder!

  Er hört Gesang
  Und Harfenklang,
Und [schwebt]2 durch blühende Lauben;
  Ein Mädchenchor
  Rauscht schnell hervor,
Und bringt ihm goldene Trauben!

  Saus' immerfort,
  O Winternord,
Im schneebelasteten Haine!
  Nur streu dein Eis,
  O lieber Greis,
In keine Flaschen mit Weine!

  [Der stolzen]3 Frau
  Färb braun und blau
[Den Kamm, der adlich ihr schwillet]4!
  Nur musst du fliehn
  Den Hermelin,
Der junge Busen verhüllet!

Chanson à boire en hiver

Language: French (Français) after the German (Deutsch)

  Que le verre soit rempli !
  Le vent du Nord rugit ;
Le soleil s'est couché !
  L'ours froid
  Est un signe que le gel arrive !
Buvons, frères, buvons !

  Le sapin brille
  Fort dans la cheminée,
Et les étincelles volent en crépitant !
  Le noble Rhin
  Nous a donné ce vin !
Buvons, frères, buvons !

  Le noble vin
  Effraie le gel,
Et fait venir par magie le printemps sur nous ;
  Le buveur voit
  Le bosquet en fleur,
Et les buissons lui chantent des chansons en tourbillonnant !

  Il entend des chants
  Et le son des harpes,
Et il flotte au-dessus du feuillage en fleur ;
  Un chœur de jeunes filles
  Retentit rapidement dehors,
Et lui apporte des raisins dorés !

Siffle sans cesse,
Ô vent du nord,
Dans le bosquet recouvert de neige !
Seulement n'étend ta glace,
Ô cher vieil homme,
Dans aucune bouteille de vin !

La fière femme
Peint en noir et bleu
Le peigne qui la dresse fièrement !
Seulement tu devrais éviter
L'hermine
Qui couvre ta jeune poitrine !
