Sie singt ein altes Liedchen,
Das hat so wehen Klang,
Durch hohe Bogenfenster
Schwebt zitternd der Gesang.
Da reckt der Tag die Glieder
Die Tauben werden wach,
Die Sonne klettert lustig
Bis auf des Schlosses Dach.
Schneewittchen in der Wiegen
Träumt lächelnd für sich hin
Die Mutter ist gestorben,
Die blasse Königin.

tout le monde va sur la pointe des pieds,
On entend le bruit de la fontaine,
On entend souffler le vent.

Dans son berceau Blanche-neige
Souriante rêve pour elle-même,
Sa mère la berce doucement,
La reine blême.

Elle chante une vielle chansonnette
Aux accents si douloureux,
Passant la voûte de la haute fenêtre,
Plane le chant frissonnant.

Puis le jour étend ses bras
Les pigeons s'éveillent
Le joyeux soleil grimpe
Jusqu'au toit du château.

Dans son berceau Blanche-neige
Souriante rêve pour elle-même,
Sa mère est morte,
La reine blême.
