Bringe ich dich ihr als Geschenk Dankt sie es mir mit Küssen. Wenn meine Lucette, mir davon sonst auch nur Zweie gibt Für so ein Geschenk werden's Zehne, ah. Ah zehne für die Grasmücke. Die Grasmücke jedoch Hatte dort im Tal seine Gefährtin Und alsbald, alsbald, alsbald entschlüpfte mit eiligem Flügelschlag ihrem Gefängnis. Ach! Dachte der verzweifelte Schäfer, Nie mehr Küsse mehr von meiner Lucette! All mein Glück entschwand Auf den Flügeln der Grasmücke! Traurig kehrte Myrtil in den nahen Wald zurück Seinen Verlust beweinend. Doch dort im Walde, sei es Glück, sei es Schicksal Befand sich seine Lucette. Wohl wissend um seine gute Absicht, kam sie hervor aus ihrem Versteck und sprach: tröste dich, Du hast ja nur die Grasmücke verloren.
